Are Medically-Related Accomodations Available?
Eligibility for medically related housing accommodations is determined by the Director of Student Health Services. You will need to submit documentation in the form of a letter from your health care provider. All special requests and their relevant medical documentation must be made by February 1, 2009.

Can we substitute someone else on my petition once the petition has been turned in?
For the Residential College and Village BLOC Round 1, Rounds 2 & 3, all petitions should be completed online and submitted electronically. Students do not have to submit a paper petition to one of the Residential Life Offices EXCEPT for those who are doing Apartment Homesteading. Students will have the ability to manipulate and change the petitions that fall under the status of PROPOSED or CONFIRMED. Once the petition is SUBMITTED (1 day window) the petition can no longer be changed.

What if I don’t get a housing assignment at the end of Round 3?
Once you submit your application for housing it becomes our responsibility to house you. Your application is good for any of our off or on campus spaces and we are confident that we can assign you to a space. We will continue to refer to any petitions, waitlists, or correspondence we have on file when finalizing your assignment. It is not uncommon for us to work through the summer in order to get all students assigned.
What if I don’t get a housing assignment I want?
Not all students will get the housing they want. Our priority will be to house people with who they want to live with over where they want to live. Many changes in housing take place over the summer and you may place your name on the wait list to request to be moved to another space Your request will be considered as space becomes available. The waitlist will still be addressed according to lottery order and will open on April 20th.
Is there substance free housing available?
We do not offer designated substance free housing for upper-class students. You are encouraged to make your own suite substance free.

What are my chances of getting…?
Once the Petition is CONFIRMED students will be able to view where their petition RANKS in relation to other petitions at that time. Participants have the ability to modify their request by canceling and rearranging themselves in this phase of the process. Once the petition is Submitted, the group no longer has the ability to change their petition. The ability to see where you rank gives students more control within the process. Please note: Although medical requests are due by February 1, we are required to place approved medicals if space exists which could affect the posted availability.

What if I’m planning on going abroad?
If you know that you are going abroad for the fall semester DO NOT submit an application. If you are not sure, you should apply for housing. Once you are accepted into a program, notify our office and we will cancel your housing contract and credit your account for the Advance Reservation Fee. WE WILL NOT HOLD A SPECIFIC SPACE FOR YOU UNTIL THE SPRING SEMESTER. Any space that becomes available because a student goes abroad or cancels their can be reassigned.
If you wish to live with someone who is currently abroad, will get a lottery number issued to them automatically. Since the (most) petitions, application, and advance payment are online this year, students who are abroad can participate in the same manner as a student who is at campus. Please make sure your perspective roommates consult the Residential Life website while they are away.
